Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The impact of stress on the psychological and physical health of transport workers is to be studied by the Health & Safety Executive and could provide some answers to the worrying rise in stress-related illnesses among HGV drivers.

The project is one of more than 200 research programmes announced last week by the HSE. It plans to spend .£25m this year researching a variety of occupational health and safety risks. The study into the causes and effects of stress will look at the impact of work organisation and job design on performance and the incidence of accidents. According to the HSE, the project will aim to develop strategies for stress prevention and encourage the use of personality profiling when recruiting employees for stressful jobs.

LI As part of its Workplace Transport Safety campaign, the HSE will introduce guidelines next month on the sheeting and unsheeting of tippers. The campaign is intended to raise the standard of safety on vans, HGVs and dumpers used on worksites and quarries.
