THE Government are ready to listen to representations from the British commercial vehicle industry on changes in the Construction and Use.RegulatiOns that would help them to conform more precisely to European standards and enter that market inside the proposed Free-trade area, writes our political correspondent.

So far there has been no indication to official quarters that vehicle specifications are not suitable for Europe. It is understood that the Government believe that British makers will be able to secure Continental orders under the free-trade scheme.

Equipped for the Crown Agents in Gambia, a mobile workshop is fitted with an oil-engine-driven generator which provides-,power for a vulcanizer, compressor, drill, grinder and so on. The vehicle is designed to be able to carry out any light repair work in the field.
