It’s pleasing to report that the united front the FTA and RHA put up during the 2010 election did not disband this year.

Inevitably when two such powerful entities get involved in a campaign, it’s not all roses all the time, and certainly each association probably thinks it contributed more to the campaign than the other.
The old and expected differences remain, but that’s only right given their distinctly different memberships. Longer semi-trailers – sorry, not again, high-volume trailers – is a good example: the RHA voiced its concerns regularly and clearly about the detrimental effect on its members, while FTA was clearly keen as mustard for the trials to go ahead.
