Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

While Malcolm Wilson and Norbert Dentressangle were a shock entry onto last year’s Power Players, their place was guaranteed this year after the EC cleared the takeover of TDG in April.

And ND couldn’t have bought TDG at a better time: the business doubled its pre-tax profit to £26.3m in 2010 on a turnover up just 2% to £678.2m.

The UK is now ND’s largest market outside its native France: the UK generates more than £1.1bn of turnover, meaning ND duels with Wincanton for second place behind DHL.

This year, ND has made nothing but positive noises about the UK, boasting growth – not just from the TDG takeover but also through generating more business through its current and new customers.

Its challenge is to integrate TDG – something it didn’t do very well with Salvesen.
