ORGANISATION PALL-EX; DRAGONS’ DEN Aside from Eddie Stobart, the most famous name in transport right now is Hilary Devey. Via her stint on the BBC’s Dragons’ Den, she’s caught the media’s and public’s attention: interviewed by The Sunday Times, eulogised by award-winning The Times columnist Caitlin Moran, impersonated on BBC1’s The Impressions Show, and doing her bit for Children in Need (her Dragon jacket sold for £5,000). Love her or loathe her, you cannot escape her presence. And it is her media presence rather than that of the pallet network
she founded in 1996 that sees her placed on the Power Players list.
She told CM recently that she wants to use her fame to become a champion of the industry, and she’s keen to ensure Europe doesn’t ruin the UK’s supply chain by mucking around with trailer heights.
Let’s see if she uses her power to generate headlines for the industry in 2012.
