Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

HERTZ IS one of the larger rental companies in the group and, far from being a faceless corporation, proved to be the epitome of friendly professionalism. This particular branch was situated on a busy Croydon street with very little legal parking around, We were warmly greeted and our requirements quickly identified. Locating our booking took only a second then it was down to the business of getting us on the road. Overall senice was extremely efficient: there was no checking of utility bills or suchlike, only the driving licence— and just the plastic part at that. Very trusting indeed.

The charge for the day came to a reasonable £50.09 with a deposit of £700, which was quite a steep figure compared with the rest of the vehicles (see chart).

We were offered the alternative of paying an extra I:15 to cover the first £700 in case of an accident or damage. Do these high deposits and extra payment options have a direct connection? We think so.

We were accompanied to the vehicle and any dents were noted before we were handed the keys. However, a thorough inspection was not forthcoming; the assistant said that if we found any more we should mark them up — this might have had something to do with the fact that it was pouring with rain.

Our ride was a Ford Transit with only 6,533 miles on the clock and it came with a full tank of fuel. As a new vehicle it was easy to drive and did everything right. The cabin was clean and there were no distinguishing odours left behind by the previous occupants.
