WHAT is immodestly being described as one of the most interesting bus system educational trips ever organised is being run by Southend-based Viscount Holidays on March 30/31 next year.
For just £69, a full visit to the operational base and presentation on the history and present operations of bus operators in the Channel Islands has been arranged.
The trip offers a flight from Southend to Jersey where a visit to Jersey Motor Transport has been arranged.
The following day there will be a transfer to Guernsey where the Guernseybus operation comes under the spotlight.
An optional excursion to Alderney to visit the operation of Riduna Garage is available for an extra £17.
At the Riduna Garage vintage buses previously used to provide the island's only bus route are stored.
Finally a return flight from Guernsey to Southend completes what should be both relevant and nostalgic for those involved in bus operation on the mainland.
