Tachodisc launched two additions to Its range of digital tachograph analysis equipment.
The first piece of hardware is the digipostV, which lets users download tachograph data remotely without the need for a company card in the vehicle. Providing the company card is connected to the internet, data is sent to a central computer where it is analysed and interpreted.
The system allows operators using VDO 1.3 tachographs or later to download data automatically as the information can be validated directly from the vehicle. In addition, the digipostV can also be specified with GPS, fuel monitoring and job handling functionality. The second addition is the Digi-Down Blue; a product that allows dryers to log tachograph data direct from their vehicles.
Karen Crispe, director of Tachodisc, says: 'The Digi-Down Blue has been designed to address the issues of drivers who work remotely, or find it difficult to get their Vehicle Unit [VU] and driver card data back to base.
'In many cases, the downloading of data is carried out near the transport office, but often it's just not convenient. Like other combined VU card readers, the Dig i-Down Blue is plugged into the front of the VU and the information is sent to a PC or mobile phone."
