Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A BARNSLEY operator has hit Out at fuel card company Securicor Fuelserve after the price of his fuel soared to 95p/lit almost 15p/lit more than his local forecourt.

Steve Shires from SM Shires Transport says he almost fell over when he got his invoicc:-I couldn't believe it -I use a fuel card because it's meant to be cheaper. It's about time the government did something to help us and introduced an essential fuel rebate for operators. It's currently survival of the fittest in the UK haulage industry-operators are being forced to absorb the extra fuel costs as they are unable to pass them on." Andrew Parton. who runs Andrew Parton Transport, says petrol is now cheaper than diesel: "I daren't look at how much my fuel bill has gone up in the past year -it's ridiculous, How can it be cheaper to buy diesel on a forecourt than using a fuel card?"

Fuelserve's marketing manager. Lee Everett, won't comment on individual cases but says: "Our customers pay a range of prices depending on circumstances. The rising cost of fuel is due to events in the oil market and the disparity between what companies can buy fuel for in bulk, and what the forecourts can buy it for."
