The current battle over the principle shift pay for Britain's 80.000 municipal ismen is to be referred to arbitration. us move follows deadlock in the neitiations between the Municipal Passenr Transport Employers' Federation and e Transport and General Workers' nion.

The union is claiming shift pay of 1.50 a week — equivalent to a 15 per .nt pay increase. The claim was originly lodged last December and rejected Aright.
