Beagley to head CIT

NEXT president of the Chartered Institute of Transport will be Tom Beagley who takes over from current president, Maurice Gifford on October 1.

Mr Beagley, a CIT council member since 1974, has also served on the institute's general purposes committee and became a vice-presi4ent in 1976.

After joining the Ministry of Transport in 1946 he served with the Cabinet Office, the Ministry of Defence and the UK delegation to NATO. He is currently deputy chief-executive in the property services agency.
