• Vehicle distributor Walon is recruiting 70 temporary transporter drivers—an increase of 23%—to meet a continuing increase in its business.
The recruitment drive will increase driver numbers from 305 to 375: all will be trained by Walon; they will be based throughout the company's 16 distribution centres. The jobs may become permanent.
The company expects to increase the number of vehicles it carries from last year's total of 200,000 to 500,000.
