All the regular items were there including Trust News and Around the World, including reports from Spain, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. There was news of the first Road Steam Validation Certificates presented in June. These certificates are issued by the Road Steam Forum to provide clear and standardised evidence of the facts that make up an engine's history. At the turn of the century George McDonald emigrated to Ireland and went into the fairground business setting up an enterprise called Caledonian Amusements. Gerry spoke to George's son Norman, who recollected the various engines members Of the family had owned in their businesses.
