Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MI A driver from a Peterborough firm is to be interviewed next week by the British Transport Police after a truck on a railway crossing narrowly missed being hit by a 70mph train.

The near miss, which the Transport Police say was "just seconds away" from disaster, happened when a driver ignored the red stop lights on the Harts Drove crossing eight miles from Peterborough and drove across the track.

The driver of the Norwich to Peterborough passenger train put on the emergency brakes as he saw the truck and managed to stop only 200 yards beyond the crossing as the driver continued his journey.

"This was an extremely foolhardy trick which carries a maximum of two years in prison," says Inspector Derek Hackett of the Transport Police. "Although someone else had left open the gates on the crossing, it is a more severe offence to cross when the lights say don't"
