Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

a bypass in Dumfriesshire if they continue to travel through a nearby village instead.

David Mundell. MP for Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale, says that residents in Eskdalemuir are reporting that trucks are failing to use the specially constructed bypass, completed last year at a cost of £4.7m. Villagers have also complained of speeding and vehicles travelling in convoys.

Mundell says: "Now that we have the Timber Traffic Bypass, its use needs to be enforced. I hope that progress can be made on a voluntary basis. If not, some sort of compulsion needs to be considered."

The MP, who is also Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Scotland, raised the villagers' concerns at a meeting with the Road Haulage Association (RHA) on 6 October.

Phil Flanders, RHA regional director for Northern Ireland and Scotland, says the RHA is looking into the issues with the Timber Transport Forum.
