The licences of two Nottinghamshire companies whose sole director had been disqualified from acting as a company director have been revoked at a Leeds public inquiry.
Courier Express Parcels, of Nottingham, and Freeway Distribution, of Langley Mill, were called before North Eastern and North Western Deputy Traffic Commissioner Brian Horner. The DTC was also considering a licence application by the director concerned,
Aldo Di Concilio, trading as AD Transport seeking authority for four vehicles and two trailers at Langley Mill.
For Di Concilio, Gary Hodgson said he was withdrawing the application as Di Concilio was now otherwise employed. The Deputy TC said the proposed transport manager, Frank Parr, had told the Traffic Area he wished to disassociate himself from the operation. Hodgson said he was not in a position to represent either company, both of which were now in liquidation. Revoking the licences, the Deputy TC said he considered it would be unsafe to allow them to continue. There was no evidence to satisfy him there was sufficient finance or evidence to satisfy him about maintenance. He felt public safety would be at risk if either company attempted to operate.
However, deciding against disqualifying Di Concilio from holding a licence, the Deputy TC said there was insufficient evidence before him to justly taking any further action.
