INTERNATIONAL conferce on passenger transport items and technology in an areas will take place at ,thenburg from June 27 to 30 xt year.
Although the search for new thods and equipment in ssenger transport has been a iture in many European and erseas cities, the experience
gained in various projects has varied considerably; this has been particularly pronounced with schemes of the "dial a bustype which have not always had the reception expected.
Aim of the conference is to discuss major topics of public transport such as technical research, strategy, fares policy and the analysis of current experiments. The organisers are asking for papers to be submitted for presentation at the conference and brief summaries should be sent immediately, to arrive not later than the end of this month, to PTS Conference, The Programme Committee, Chalmers University of Technology, 5-202 20, Gothenburg, Sweden.
If accepted, the full paper must be delivered not later than March 1, 1978.
The conference is to be accompanied by an exhibition in the Svenska Massan show centre which will include vehicles, components, terminal equipment, ticket systems and traffic control and surveillance devices. The host city, Gothenburg, is one of the six European centres selected for the OECD research programme "Better living with less traffic.'
