STEMA is now using the Flexikan semitiler with removable running gear and is shortly use a new type of Kangaroo wagon capable carrying maximum-length semi-trailers of 100 cu. ft. capacity and weighing up to 32 tons oss at speeds up to 75 m.p.h.

GUM is experimenting with, and will soon be ing; removable-bogie semi-trailers with 40 ft. dies weighing up to 25 tons gross which will side-loaded on to fiat wagons without external :ing equipment. The new SNETC will have 60 per cent of its capital in the hands of hauliers and piggyback operators, and its chairman and general director will be M. Edmond Renaud (general director of STEMA and chairman of the French road haulage federation). His assistant will be M. R. Mazeaud, chairman of GUM.

The new company will have exclusive use of a tariff, issued by the French national railways (SNCF), for the conveyance of its members' unit loads and it will be free to offer rates to road hauliers using its service, who will not deal directly with the railways.
