Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AT its meeting in Coventry last week, the AT

executive of the Lorry Driver of the Year competition (which is sponsored by COMMERCIAL MOTOR) decided to hold the national finals for 1967 on Sunday, September 10. Subject to confirmation, the venue will again be Bramcote, where the finals have been held for several years past.

The executive heard that two centres— Maidstone and Stoke on Trent—were experiencing administrative problems; in both cases the organizers would not continue next year. Efforts are to be made to continue the Maidstone round and to provide an alternative for the Stoke entrants.

The tests for next year's eliminating centres will be (1) Reversing and parking against a kerb, as in this year's eliminating centres; (2) Width judging (as at the national finals last month) through fixed pylons, penalties being incurred for lack of central positioning; (3) Reversing into an angled loading bay with eccentric walls (as in the 1966 finals).

The executive committee decided that the question of whether the tests should be combined and run as one continuous test was a matter for local centres to decide themselves. The tests at this year's final were combined into one continuous-movement test and timed; they were markedly successful.
