LUTON Corporation proposes to pure chase 12 services worked by 14 vehicles and run by three local private operators. The purchase price is £21,000, and the operators concerned are XL Motor Services, Union jack (Luton) Omnibus Co., Ltd., and Blue Bird Motor Services.
Four of the services are operated in the town of Luton and their acquisition will give the corporation control of seven of the 10 services working solely in the borough. If official sanction can be obtained, the municipal system will be increased by some 20 route-miles, bringing the total up to 26 route-miles.
