Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

why foreign motor vehicles are predominant on the roads of Britain. I can now reveal the answer—complacency and arrogance.

Recently I have been in touch with a British manufacturer about some revolutionary new ideas that would change the CV market, would improve safety and comfort, and would reduce the tare weight of vehicles.

But this British manufacturer was not interested at all. The main part of its reply was as follows: "Ride and handling (suspension), driver environment (entry/exit) and vehicle security are priority areas for our R&D activities. As such our high investment in these areas over the past few years has resulted in our future design strategies already being well developed "These strategies, which have been tested for market acceptability, are now moving into the realisation phase for our next generation of trucks" This being the case, the company didn't believe that it was appropriate to re-open a debate on these issues at this late stage of its product evolution.
