Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Cadzow Heavy Haulage specified a unique ERF 8x4 tractive unit after its predecessor, a Ginaf Daf rig, was written off in a fire. The ERF was built and supplied within 11 weeks of the order date.

It is powered by a Cummins N14 525E Celect, producing 516hp (385kW) at 1,900rpm with 2,350Nm (1,7331bft) of torque at 1,200rpm. Drive is through a ZF Transmatic WSK 440 unit, incorporating a torque converter and lock-up device, and a ZF Ecosplit 16 S 251 16-speed synchromesh box.

The second axle is a steering lifter rated at 12,000kg, with a 52,000kg doubledrive bogie. All axles are by Sisu.

A Jost 150tonne fifth wheel is fitted, with front and rear towing jaws. Maximum GCW is 200 tonnes with an unladen weight of around 12.7 tonnes, depending on the job. A 625litre fuel tank is fitted behind the twin-bunk EC cab.

Cadzow approached a number of manufacturers, but only ERF was prepared to build the tractor to its specification. Cadzow managing director Jim Macauley says: "It's nice to be able to buy British-built again." Impressed by ERF's response, Cadzow has placed orders for two more tractors.
