Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Commercial Motor Comparison of Four British Panel Vans, October 25,1974

The Leyland van did between 1.2 and 2.1 miles per gallon better, by the Commercial Motor comparison, than the Ford Transit 90, the Commer PB 2500 and the Bedford CF 22 cwt.

That means it could save you an extra £40** to E80**on fuel alonefor every 20,000 miles you drive, when compared with the costs of operating any of its three less frugal competitors.

And it will do it under most types of driving conditions too.

Truck magazine recently compared the Leyland 240,1798 c.c. petrolengined van with the Bedford CF 22 in their Mini Test Match (Nov.1974). They reported that "Startling fuel figures emerged from our test, and try as we might we could not get the Leyland van below 20 mpg." In total, it outscored the Bedford CF 22 in five out of six of the fuel consumption tests.

The Leyland van also has more practical loadspace than any other van in its class.

Its 190* Cu. ft. of loadspace was carefully designed to be nice and boxy with flatter sides, like the shape of most common loads.

Now you can pack a box-shaped load nearly flush against the sides, without leaving wasted empty space.

With the engine mounted forward and the cab floor left virtually flat, the Leyland van's exceptionally long floor load length (102 ins.) becomes even longer on the passenger side (136 ins.), if a seat is not fitted.

Depending on your load requirements, you can choose from among three nominal payloads; 13/14 cwt., 18/19 cwt. or 22/23 cwt.

Choose from three available engine options; the 1798 c.c. and 1622 c.c. petrol units or the 1798 c.c. diesel.
