B. B. Day has joined MAT Transport as group marketing manager. Mr Day was previously marketing services manager for the Goest Organisation.
Donald Thompson, 37, has joined Thermalite as fleet engineer; the company is expanding its vehicle fleet to approximately 150. Mr Thompson was technical executive with GUS Transport and before that regional transport engineer with Shell-Mex and BP.
Berry Pelmore, 31, has been appointed Midlands BRS planning and developments officer, based at Oxford.
Roger Farrell has joined National Travel (North West) as licensing officer; he previously held a similar position with Ribble Motor Services.
Nigel Nixon, 25, has recently been appointed transport manager at Frigo
scandia's Stratford, East London, depot. Mr Nixon was previously transport superintendent.
L. W. Leppington, 58, managing director of Freightliners Ltd has decided to retire later this year, and has asked the NFC to accept his resignation when his successor has been appointed. Mr Leppington, who worked with the railways for more than 40 years, joined Freightliners as chairman and managing director at the beginning of 1972.
John Carroll has been appointed the West Midlands area representative for Powell Duffryn Engineering Ltd.

Jack Beesley, 53, in charge , of production control at the hydraulics division of Edbro since 1968, becomes manager of the company's new "specialities" division dealing with products like hydraulic tail-lifts and
container-handling equipment. He is succeeded by Derek Sumner, 26.
Malcolm Roxburgh, 26, traffic planning superintendent with Midland Red, joins the NBC as long-range planning officer, based at Oxford. Keith Dickie, 47, becomes NBC assistant planning officer — information, on April 1.
