A. FOUR-WHEELED refuse trailer 1—1 and a special dump trailer have been added to the range produced by Whitlock Brothers, Ltd., Great Yeldhain, Essex. The refuse trailer has a capacity of 9 cu. yd., whilst the dumper is designed for a load of 5 tons.
Six sliding shutters are provided on the refuse trailer, for filling from each side. There arc hinged doors at the rear, and the sides are hinged to open up or down. A hydraulic ram for three-way tipping is located on a cradle beneath the body, and power can be supplied either by hand pump or from the tractor hydrau
lics. Standard size of the all-steel body is 12 ft. by 6 ft., and both sprung and solid axles are available.
Tipping of the dumper, which is intended for rock and other heavy materials, is by means of twin underbody rams. Positive control of the elevating movement from the tractor driver's seat enables the load to be spread evenly. A maximum tipping angle of 62° and high clearance aid dumping of the load, as do the sloping body sides and scow end.
The pressed-steel body, mounted on a reinforced channel-section frame, is 9 ft. 2 in. long, 7 ft. wide and 2 ft. deep.
