Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

that withstands brutal use

!ABILITY of the interior surfaces of passenger vehicles to damage, as a result of careless use by the public, is always a problem for the coach and bus owner. For this reason, the employment of a plastic trimming with proved resistance to misuse is worthy of par

ticular notice.

Recently, tests of Perfector plastic material were made in the presence of representatives of "The Commercial Motor" by Mr. J. C. Broadhead, of Bollington, near Macclesfield, who has lately reconditioned certain vehicles with duotone trimmings of this type. In some cases Perfeetor material has also been used for seat upholstery.

During the tests the material was repeatedly scraped with steel-shod boots and. was subjected to vigorous filing, both without causing damage of any kind. The contents of an inkwell were poured on the material, which was then left to dry and afterwards covered with mud. The ink and mud were completely removed by washing with water.

It would be difficult to devise a more searching test of any finishing material. The resistance to abrasion and the easycleaning qualities of Perfector must commend it to operators in industrial areas.

Perfecter plastic material is also stated to be resistant to battery acid. This fabric is produced in numerous attractive shades and is finished with a lightly grained effect. The manufacturer is Perfector Plastic Products, Ltd., Canada House, Spring Gardens, Manchester, 2.

To Facilitate

Tyre Repairs

A TOOL designed to facilitate the CI work of repairing outer covers is found in the Pacera tyrespreader, a product of W. J. Meddings, Ltd., Kingsley Works, Ipswich Road, Slough, Bucks. The tool is of all-steel construction, so that it should be well suited to the heavy duties it has to perform.

The actual operation of spreading a tyre takes but amatter of seconds, as with the side plates of the spreader inside the tyre bead, an outward and downward movement of the side levers opens out the tyre, which is then securely held through the agency of a ratchet device on the tool. The Pacera sells for £2 10s.

Some such device is undoubtedly desirable with even comparatively smallsection tyres, as considerable force is needed to spring the walls apart, before doing work.
