Clayton Commercials builds road tankers for the chemicals, edibles and liquefied gases industry. However, with the chemical tanker market's current downturn, it has turned to producing liquid waste and gas carriers too.
Indeed, its 33.000 litre aluminium vacuum tanker with Discos axles and 22.5in brake discs, tares out at 5.1t and has attracted much interest. Clayton expects to double last year's build total of over 30. One regular user is United Utilities which now has five in us fleet.
It also has a new lightweight LPG tanker range with 52,000 to 57,000 litre capacities, and payloads up to 25.5 t.
