Immingham, Lincs. Krone's Coot Liner 2 seen at the CV Show has gained a much sturdier front end, with wider, thicker run-up plates that extend under the corners.
Inside, the bulkhead has also been reinforced with a 100mm protective upstand, and instead of using block foam in the body sides and back doors, it's injected in. Krone's Danish factory produces around 70 reefers a week but a new Eastern German plant comes on stream next year, as will a new trailer design.
Of last year's 350 reefer build total, many found their way into large supermarket fleets such as Asda. However, its well earned appeal here is affected by the surging European demand and UK lead times stretching to week 12 next year.
