Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A NEW antifreeze based on propylene glycol has been developed by Dow Chemical Co Ltd, to be marketed under the tradename Dowfrost E.

According to Dow, the new antifreeze can be mixed with conventional ethylene glycolbased coolants in any ratio.

It is said that the effects of eye and skin contact are much less dangerous than for ethylene glycol antifreeze.

Other advantages claimed by the company are the inclusion of additives to avoid foaming and scale formation, and compatibility with the elastomers used for pipework in cooling circuits.

Dowfrost E is distributed by Brenntag UK Ltd, 45 High Street, Hampton Wick, Kingston-upon-Thames.
