BRADFORD Metropolitan Council is taking delivery of 21 Rootes-bodied welfare coaches built on Dodge 50Series chassis/front ends.

The Dodges have been specified with six-cylinder 3.68 litre petrol engines which have been converted for dual petrol / lpg operation by Landi-Hartog.

Using the 556C model 50Series with 366cm (144in) wheelbase, Rootes of Maidstone have fitted the body with 14 passenger seats.

All the seats are equipped with seat belts, but the body can be adapted to accommodate eight seats and six wheelchairs.
