Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

POLICE inspection of British vehicles at the France-Italian border during December proved that 74 per cent of drivers had no registration documents or other documents in lieu.

Nearly half the British drivers stopped had no tachograph or individual control book (or misuse of same), 28 per cent had no EEC waybill, and 22 per cent had no journey report form.

As a result of these offences, checks will be intensified on British vehicles entering France through all Channel ports. Operators are advised to ensure that drivers and vehicles are equipped with the necessary documents, ready for inspection.
