CUTS in the retail price of some grades of petrol have been made by leading companies. Last Friday Shell-Mex and B.P. announced that two premium brands—Shell and B.P. Super—would be reduced by 14d. a gallon in the U.K. National Benzole also made similar cuts in its National Benzole and Power Plus products. The new inner zone price of these petrols is now 4s. 9d. a gallon.
-On Monday, Esso and its subsidiary Cleveland made price cuts. However, Esso reduced Esso Extra by only id. a gallon (now 4s. 9id.) and Esso Mixture by Id, (4s. 60.). Cleveland has reduced Disco] by Id. a gallon, Benzol Mixture by lid. and Cleveland Premium by id. Total .0i1 Products (G.B.) Ltd. announced a cut of I '2d. off Total Premium, also on Monday.
