Mr. 13elhurneur, a native of Iron Mountain, Michigan, joined Goodyear in 1939 and since 1961 has been at Goodyear (France) as plant manager. His new responsibilities cover both the Wolverhampton and Glasgow factories.

Mr. Clement Muskett has been appointed director and general manager of Rubery Owen (Warrington) Ltd. He has been works manager since 1958 and was appointed works director in 1962.

Mr. J. A. Wellings has been appointed managing director of the George Cohen 600 Group Ltd., replacing Mr. C. M. Cohen, who retains his chairmanship of the Group. Mr. Wellings has joined the board of K. and L. Steelfounders and Engineers Ltd., a member company of the 600 Group. Mr. F. Rowe has been appointed chairman of K. and L. and Mr. R. G. Hooker managing director of that company.

Mr. J. G. Strickland retires next month. after 33 years' service with United Automobile Services. He has for the last 28 years been the company's superintendent at Carlisle.

Mr. P. G. Lyth, at present a senior engineer at the Ministry of Transport headquarters, has been appointed assistant chief engineer, planning and programming, in succession to Mr. E. B. Holiday, who will retire on June 30.

Mr. Philip Hepworth, who for the past 10 years has been managing director of Associated Engineering (N.Z.) Ltd., has returned to England to take up an appointment on the board of Hepworth and Grandage Ltd., Bradford. Both companies are members of the international Associated Engineering Ltd. Group. Mr. .II. A. Holmes has been appointed joint managing director and Mr. A. J. Phillips sales director, of Motor Vehicle Collection Ltd.

Mr. I. S. Barnes, local director, Wadhams Ltd., Portsmouth, has been appointed regional director; Mr. 3. A. Badharn, branch manager, Wadhams Ltd., Chichester, has been made local director and Mr. A. W. Morris has been appointed assistant manager, Applied Power Ltd.

Obituary

Vregret to record the deaths of Mr. . N. Barry and Mr. Charles A. Hartley.

Mr. Barry died in Canterbury Hospital recently at the age of 69. He was for 26 years chief engineer of the Yorkshire Traction Co. Ltd.

Mr. Hartley, of Garforth, Yorkshire, was one of three brothers associated with Mr. W. M. Rhodes in founding Hartley Bros. and Rhodes, bus proprietors, at Kippax shortly after the First World War. The firm pioneered the KippaxLeeds passenger bus service and eventually was incorporated with the West Riding Automobile Co. Mr. Hartley was 67.
