Tailboard loaders

A RANGE of five hydraulically-operated Search-Teha tailboard loaders is marketed by Wm. G. Search Ltd. They have capacities of 10 cwt. to 2 tons and are suitable for mounting at the rear or on the side of a vehicle. When the tailboard nears the end of its travel downwards it is automatically ramped, facilitating easy loading by forklift truck or pallet trolley.

The system can be operated by an hydraulic pump driven from the power takeoff or from a pump driven by an electric motor energized by the vehicle battery. Marketed by: Wm. Search Ltd., Whitehall Road, Leeds 12.

Portable tyre inflator

ADDED to the range of Step Industrial Equipment Ltd. is a portable tyre inflator and pressure gauge with built-in air reservoir capable of inflating 16 tyres before recharging, according to the makers.

The air reservoir is filled during breaks in demand by attaching a compressor airline bayonet coupling to a filler connection on the ball end of the carrying bar. It has a safety valve to prevent the maximum pressure of 227 p.s.i. being exceeded, and a valve to allow condensation to be drained periodically.

A NEW PEDESTAL for the Dorman rt. Trafilamp is now available from the Hazard lighting division of Dorman and Smith Ltd. By this arrangement, the user is supplied with a tubular support and a waxed cardboard mould, enabling him to mould a concrete base for the pedestal. Made by: Dorman and Smith Ltd., Preston, Lancashire. ANOTHER air-operated impact tool has been added to the range of IngersollRand—a short stroke lightweight impacutter.

This new tool, the MC 10B, has a onepiece alloy steel barrel, with touch trigger control, simplified valving and porting, and unitized throttle valve assembly for easy maintenance. Well-balanced and smoothoperating, the tool weighs 3.75 lb., and delivers 3,800 impacts per minute. With more than 30 accessory chisels, punches and special tools, this new model provides a wide range of application for all automotive repair.

Urban maps

iTWO National Benzole maps covering 95 plans of town and city centres, and entry routes are now available from any National Benzole service station.

The two sections cover 47 town plans in Scotland and Northern England, and 48 in Wales and Central England, and are claimed to be the first maps to give such a range of town plans in such a compact form.

Besides showing motorways and all categories of roads, they pinpoint one-way streets. Two scales are used-3 in. to the mile for centres of large towns and cities, and 1.5 in. to the mile for the outer areas of these and for small towns.

Ready for 1968

A37-PAGE booklet—it could be described as the answer to the Ford operator's prayer—has been compiled by the service, marketing and parts supply operations of the Ford Motor Co. Ltd. Initially designed to assist the Ford operator with the type of kits required to bring vehicles into line with the new braking regulations which come into force in January 1968, this "Bible" also touches on plating, as well as guidance on which Ford vehicles will not meet the 1968 MoT braking regulations and therefore will have to be down-rated.

Special notes to assist in fitting the kits are also included.

High output bulbs

A SPECIAL BPF cap is required for use rawhere rectangular headlamps are fitted, and because this cap is not interchangeable with the standard BPF bulb, Osram have introduced a range of high output bulbs to overcome this problem.

The bulbs with this special cap are a 12 volt 80/60 (ref 451), and 12 volt 60/40 (ref 452).

Electrician's mini kit

AN INVALUABLE aid in carrying out minor electrical repairs in the workshop or on a vehicle, is Bib electrician's kit contained in a plastic wallet measuring 5.5 in. by 4 in.

It contains a Bib model 8 wirestripper and cutter, which has an eight-gauge selector for various wire thicknesses, a card of fine solder which can be melted with a match, a roll of plastic insulating tape, screwdriver and a card of fuse wire.
