DURING the year ended May 31, 41 applications, amounting to .about £2.900,000, were received by, the Ministry of Transport from murriciPal
authorities for sanction to borrow money to buy public service vehicles.
Thirty-four of these applications, amounting to £2,700,000, were sanctioned, or promises were made to authorize them when delivery dates were known. The remaining seven are still under consideration.
