• The first right-hand-drive Renault Major 6x4 heavy haulage tractor has arrived in the UK.
Powered by a 287kW (385hp) 12-litre Euro-1 engine with an 18speed Renault B18 gearbox, the Major is capable of operating on Special Types Category 2 work at up to 80 tonnes GCW. It has heavy-duty suspension and a reinforced chassis.
The 6.33:1 ratio double-drive bogie allows a top speed of 88km/h and a restart on a 30% (1-in-3) gradient.
The tractor has a Turboliner sleeper cab and is expected to enter service with a UK heavy haulier soon.
