Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A new tandem-axle trailer developed for the carrying of fork-lift trucks and similar plant has been introduced by York Trailer Co Ltd.

A deck height of lft 8in. has been obtained while still using standard suspension components, in this case from the company's Harco system, and also retaining 20in. wheels. Double folding alloy ramps, also serving as the tailboard, when used in 'conjunction with 21in. chock ramps give an entry slope sufficiently slight for the self-loading of electric trucks. The main deck length is 24ft, clear floor width is 68in. between the wheel boxes and loading height is 16.5in. A 9ft foredeck is provided which can be used for a winch or for carrying traction batteries.

Plated gross trailer weight is 18.5 tons but other versions with plated weights between 17 and 22 tons can be supplied if required.

Eddison Plant Ltd, of Grantham, Lines, is the first customer for the new trailer type and the first example is being used in the East Midlands and East Anglia areas.
