Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• John Peyton, Minister for Transport Industries, is proposing to make regulations providing for the inclusion in the plating and testing scheme of local authority refuse collection, gully emptying, street cleansing and weighbridge testing vehicles.

Existing vehicles will be required to be submitted for their first examination at any time during the period April 1 1972 to September 30 1973. New vehicles registered before October 1 1972 must also be

submitted for their first examination during this period; but those registered after this date will be required to be tested by the end of the month in which falls the first anniversary of their date of registration.

These proposals have been agreed witE the local authority associations and othei interested bodies.

The Regulations will be made and laid before Parliament in the near future.
