BRISTOL-BASED haulier David Hathaway Transport saw pre-tax profits rise by £175,000 in the year to 31 May 2007. according to the latest accounts filed with Companies House. Pre-tax profits went up to i870,190 from £694,202 in the previous year.Turnover was not revealed in the abbreviated accounts, although the directors' notes did indicate that it went up from 2006 to 2007, and the number of staff increased from 80 to 85.Total payroll costs, including wages,social security and pensions, rose from £2.3m to .E2.5m. David Hathaway Transpc started in 1976 as a bulk tipr operation run alongside t existing family coal merchan business, which has since be sold. It now operates 50 vehic and 60 trailers and remairv family concern.
