THE use of a metal plate attached to the chassis as the sole means of identification for senii-trailers has been causing concern because of the ease with which the plate can be defaced or removed by vehicle thieves.

Accordingly, the Brockhouse vehicles division, in response to a request from the vehicles security committee of the Road Haulage Association, will in future stamp the serial numbers of all the company's trailers on the chassis frame in addition to the usual identification -plate.
