MR. J. D. MUNDELLA has succeeded MR, P. H. W. SMITH as chief engineer of East Midland Motor Services, Ltd. Mr. Smith has become chief engineer of Trent Motor Traction Co., Ltd. Mr. Mundella was a premium apprentice at Leyland Motors, Ltd., and was at one time assistant experimental engineer of Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd. After war service he joined the Anglo Iranian Oil Co. and later became assistant engineer of the North Western Road Car Co., Ltd. In 1955 he returned to B.M.M.O. as assistant chief engineer. He is chairman of the Midland section of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers. MR. E. H. BROOK has been appointed chief chemist of Small and Parkes, Ltd.

MR, B. W. HOWARD, managing director of B.T.R. Industries, Ltd., has been appointed deputy chairman.

Mg. BERT HAywooD, general manager of Thompson of Doncaster, Ltd., Bedford dealers, has been appointed a director.

MR. LEONARD BLAKE has been appointed by the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., as assistant district manager for Birmingham (South), MR. H. N. KAY has been recommended by West Bromwich Transport Committee to become deputy general manager of the transport undertaking.

WE regret to announce the deaths of M. ' T. H. W. HITCHINS and MR. ALEXANDER EDWARDS HUKINS.

Mr. Hitchins was spare parts superintendent of A.C.V. Sales, Ltd., at Southall. For the past 28 years he had devoted the greater part of his working life to dealing with A.E.C. spares.

Mr. Hukins was founder and former managing director of the E.N.V. Engineering Co., Ltd., and was closely associated with the introduction and manufacture of spiral-bevel gears.
