"The choice of cabs is exceptional"

Chris Wright

Chris Wright, managing director of independent Commercial Vehicle Auctions, conducts sales of commercial vehicles, trailers and plant equipment twice a month at his premises in Doncaster.

He told us: "The FM rigid is far too new for them to be seen at auction. People who buy new 18-tonners often keep them for five years and longer. Operators running FH tractive units swear by them, so I don't think it will be any different with the FM rigids. At 250hp the 7.3-litre engine is quite high powered for an 18-tonner, but driven sensibly it should give a good return on fuel. Equally, the 290hp in the 26-tonner is what is being asked for. The choice of cabs is exceptional at these weights."
