Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

E National Road Transport Federa tion is to be dissolved. This was announced jointly this week by the Road Haulage Association, the Traders Road Transport Association and the Passenger Vehicle Operators Association.

As a lesult of discussions between the honorary officers of these organizations, a unanimous recommendation is being made to the Council of the National Road Transport Federation that the Federation be dissolved. The Council will meet on January 15.

The Federation was created in 1945 and for a time provided common secretarial services and, until recently, joint premises for the R.H.A., T.R.T.A. and P.V.O.A. It has continued to act for the three organizations jointly on Certain matters of common interest, said a statement this week.

Developments over the intervening years have brought about changes in the nature of liaison between the organizations, and the stage has.been reached at which it is apparent that the work which the N.R.T.F. has continued to do can now more appropriately be performed by the Associations individually.

There is, however, a real need for consultation between the road transport organizations in specific fields, and !Suitabl e arrangements will be made for this purpose, continued the statement.
