Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

keep an oil engine at the peak of its efficiency it is vitally essential that the compression should be as nearly perfect as possible and, moreover, each cylinder and piston thould show the same degree qf seal.

The most satisfactory means for finding out the respective condition of each cylinder is by the use of a compression gauge such as that marketed by the Wayne V. Myers Co., Ltd., 57-58, Dolbein Street, London, S.E.I. As it is sold complete with suitable adapters it can readily be applied to any type of compression-ignition engine. This company is responsible for Redex oil additive, and it is in connection with its use that the concern's compression gauge proves 'so valuable. By its means, the condition of each cylinder can readily be shown, both before and after the use of the oil additive.

A prolific cause of lost power is that due to the rings becoming carboned up in their grooves, to such an extent in many cases, as to prevent their free action. One result of using Redex is to free such rings with an immediate restoration of the compression. The gauge forms an invaluable check.
