Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I have been writing to MPs on this subject for about a year with no luck whatsoever. My husband is a struggling owner-driver and we have often been told: "We'll get an Eastern European to do it, it's cheaper."

No wonder. They are on lower wages, buy cheaper fuel, pay no road tax in the UK, do no maintenance on a lot of their trucks, pay no fines, never go home — I could continue.

All we want is a level playing field, but the government wants the cost of living kept down at whatever cost!

Perhaps if an MP or a member of the Royal Family were killed by one of the rogue trucks, then something would be done.

We have to pay full UK road tax, and we are hardly ever in this country, then we pay yet again in every country we pass through — talk about overtaxed!

It's no wonder UK hauliers are struggling to make a living.

If there is anything you can do, then I think a lot of hauliers would be most grateful.
