• In his annual statement Mr W. A. Allen, chairman of Atkinson Lorries (Holdings) Ltd, says he expects the output of Atkinson chassis frames to be 1650 this year as against 1273 last year, without any increase in overheads or personnel. Current orders stood at lift and he confirmed with "no hesitation" the previously forecast profit of £750,000.
After ERF (Holdings) Ltd had last week withdrawn its offer for Atkinson. Mr Allen advised shareholders to take no action on the bid from Fodens Ltd until it had been considered by the board.
