is to be held in Coventry on Sunday, September 20. Organized by the Coventry Road Accident Prevention Council, the competition will be held under the general competition rules of the R.A.C., and it is suggested that a concours d'elegance should be included. The event will take place in the Banner Lane car park of the Standard Motor Co., Ltd.

Already more than 100 entries have been received in the four classes, which are: (1) vehicles under. 1 ton; •(2) 1 ton to under 3 tons; (3) 3 tons and over; (4) articulated outfits. The largest entry is for class 2, and entries in the other classes would be particularly welcomed. There is no closing date, but the lists will be closed as soon as 200 entries are received.

Entry fee is 10s. for each vehicle. After providing for luncheon for each* driver and official, the remaining portion of the fees will be devoted to prizes for successful drivers. In addition, the Nuffield Organization is to award a cup for the best driver of any vehicle.

Vauxhall Motors, Ltd,, will give four pewter tankards to Bedford drivers in each class. The commercial transport section of the Transport and General Workers' Union has promised an annual trophy for the best team, and the News of the World will grant to the best drivers in each class membership of the Order of the Knights of the Road.

Mr. Raymond BaxiCr and Mr. Godfrey Imhof will set the tests and act as clerks of the course. It is hoped that the event will appear on television.

Further details and entry forms can he obtained from Mr. M. J. Miles, 1 Union Street, Coventry.
