Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FAIRFUELUK (FFUK) is shocked that there hasn’t been a national outcry and an immediate reaction from the government to the whistleblower oil trader’s claims, revealed in the PetrolPromise campaign ‘It’s Oil Right for Some’ dossier.

PetrolPromise leader Robert Halfon MP presented the dossier in a parliamentary debate last Thursday, which was attended by 43 MPs. The debate focused on the oil companies and why pump prices don’t fall in line with world oil prices.

“It was a good debate but it was surprising that hardly any of the MPs focused on the fact that a man, currently employed in the oil commodity market, has come forward and is prepared to give evidence to prove that every day there is price manipulation taking place,” said FFUK founder Peter Carroll.

At the end of the debate, energy minister Nick Hayes did agree to look into the claims raised by PetrolPromise.

Watching the debate along with CM, Nick Deal, manager of logistics development at the Road Haulage Association, added: “We must remember that, from each litre of fuel, it is the Treasury that takes the lion’s share. Today that is 82ppl [including VAT].” Carroll agreed: “We can’t let the government off the hook. It is planning to put duty up 3ppl in January. In the next few weeks, we will demonstrate, using hard economic evidence, why that would do more harm than good to the government’s central objective of paying back it’s deficit.” Read the whistleblower’s statement by logging on to www.fairfueluk.com
