Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I'm in the process of starting my own courier firm and am looking to buy a van. I know which make I want, but I'm unsure whether to opt for the long or medium wheelbase. What do you recommend?

It clearly depends what you are planning to deliver. While the longer wheelbase vehicle is going to give the obvious advantage with load volume, you will suffer slightly in terms of manoeuvrability and payload.

There's a common misconception that more space equates to a heavier load; in fact a medium-wheelbase van can often take up to 200kg more than a longwheelbase version with the same GVW as the extra materials used to extend the vehicle eat into its payload.

You will be able to make a better choice once you know what you will be carrying.
