Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

NOT SATISFIED with simply being UK market leader, Daf Trucks is also claiming to he the fastest growing truck brand in the UK. "We're riding the crest of a wave in terms of sales and market share at the moment," says Daf MD Stuart Hunt.

"In September the market showed an 8% improvement compared with the same month last year and Daf is up 27%."

Surprisingly, given the fact that parent Paccar has announced the impending closure of Foden, the Sandbach firm is the Li K's second fastest growing marque, with Volvo taking the third spot.

"September was a very big market for Daf as we registered 1.543 units, which is our biggest single month of registrations for 15 years," Hunt adds.

"Experience tells us that we'll drop back slightly, but there's no sign of things slowing."

During the first 10 days of October Daf claimed a 32% share of the market and Hunt reckons that its market share for the year to date is 25.8%.

Daf had been hit by lengthening lead times earlier in the year, but with a European build rate up to 222 trucks a day things are getting back to normal.
